Help that Matters!

You remember the crazy map of my speaking trip March 7 - May 29? I am home now and am so very grateful! I’m taking this opportunity to let you know how important all the “little bits” of help you gave have been… how important they continue to be. Our work mostly doesn’t happen with some single giant gift… it happens because of you and your many gifts! Thank you!

And because many of you in our network of helpers know each other, I’ve included below at least a few images from my trip. Enjoy!

flight routes

Each of my 17 flight hops (using up frequent flyer mileage) in and out of 15 states required one of you to provide airport pickup, someone to get me to my speaking engagement, and then a return to the airport… plus an Amtrak ride, an Uber, frequent flyer mileage donations, and even a float plane lift!

Plus 68 overnights and daily meals, with visiting around the edges of work… all provided by family …

…and friends… from childhood, college, and pre-Nicaraguan years…

…plus volunteers from U.S. shelter days… so good to take time to catch up!

And I was also hosted by volunteers from Nicaraguan days… with overnights, speaking in churches, living rooms, Rotary Clubs, university classrooms, and Peace & Justice gatherings… 47 presentations in all, reaching hundreds of folk … reconnecting to so many, and meeting new friends as well.

During 35 days, between flights, I was driven many miles and even lent vehicles to use in the Carolinas, Tennessee, Florida, and Delaware/Maryland.

And at the very end… for the final week… family and long-time friends helped us slog through and organize an old storage container of items that have been accumulating since 1994!

Without YOU it wouldn’t have happened! Thank you!
